FLORIDA AUTOMATED SYSTEM FOR TRANSFERRING EDUCATIONAL
RECORDS
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
OFFICE OF APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT (OADS)
Revised: July 1, 2016
Student Test Information
1. |
All items 1-308 are valid for interdistrict, Bright Futures, secondary transcript record transfer. |
2. |
Transfer up to nine (9) records per student. |
3. |
Send national and State of Florida test information for no less than the current and two previous years. NOTE: Limited English Proficiency (LEP) students: Test scores used as the basis of entry into the LEP program must be maintained in the automated system and electronically sent as part of a student's record if the student moves between Florida public school districts. The test information used as the basis of entry into program must be maintained and sent even if the test records are more than three years old. NOTE: Tests that affect high school graduation evaluation must be maintained and sent even if the test records are more than four years old. |
4. |
Up to six test scores may be sent on one record. Send additional records if necessary. If less than six tests are sent leave all fields after last valid test blank. |
5. |
If a subject area for a test has more than two score types/scores repeat the subject area information with the additional score. |
6. |
If a test has more than nine subject areas, repeat the test information with the additional subject areas. |
7. |
Always send a total score if one is available; sub-tests may also be sent. |
8. |
The presence of binary zeroes in data fields causes significant problems for several institutions in the receipt of student records. A transaction will be rejected if non-displayable characters are sent in the data unless found in Filler Reserved for Local Use (last 9 bytes of each record type). Please use some other appropriate character (e.g., SPACES) with which to initialize your records before sending them. |
9. |
A score may contain an implied decimal point. The presence or absence of such a decimal point in this field depends entirely on the value of Test Name. For example, if Test Name XYZ provides its scores in terms of "tenths," then a value of 0274 in this field indicates a score of 27.4. |
10. |
Required fields are indicated by an asterisk (*) next to the field name. |
11. |
Special characters, tilde (~), caret (^), and grave accent (`), are used as delimiters in the translation of FASTER to SPEEDE/ExPRESS. They are reserved symbols and as such cannot be included in data sent through FASTER to a SPEEDE/ExPRESS institution. |
