Updates to the
2012-2013 Version of FASTER

This document lists the updates that have been made to the
FASTER system since the release of the manual on December 9, 2012.

As of December 19, 2012 -
- After the initial release of the Change Document, which outlined the changes to be made during the FASTER annual cutover, several
changes were made to the edit program. Those coding changes were implemented during the December 9th, cutover. The Change
Summary document was later updated to reflect these changes. They included:

Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year,Online Course Exempt must be D, T, or Z for students in grades 9 - 12.
This field may be blank for all other students.

Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year,Year Entered Ninth Grade, Graduation Requirements Determination is
required for all public school students enrolled in grade level 9 through 12.

This edit was added: Course Assessment Status is required for Interdistrict and Secondary transcripts for courses taken after the
2010-2011 academic year, and must be a value equal to A, B, C, D, E, F or Z. Course Assessment Status codes A through F are to be
used only for those courses which have an end-of-course assessment. All courses without an end-of-course assessment should have a
code of “Z”, unless they were taken prior to the 2011-2012 school year, in which case they can be blank.

This edit was added: Course Flags of “O”, “Q” and “&” are substitutes for Life Management Skills, and are only valid with a subject
area code of “LM”.

The new Message Type "B23" was added to Appendix "D" for Student transcripts which are addressed to the wrong mailbox.
