EXCEPTIONAL STUDENT EDUCATION POSTSCHOOL OUTCOME AREA

A. Postsecondary Education and Training
  A1 College or University - a four year or more postsecondary educational institution in which an individual would seek a degree.
  A2 Community College - a two year postsecondary educational institution in which an individual would seek an Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree.
  A3 Vocational Technical Centers - a vocational training institution in which an individual would seek a certificate in an occupational area or complete sufficient competencies to leave with marketable skills.
  A4 Adult and Community Education - postsecondary educational programs in which an individual could take courses for high school credit leading to award of a high school diploma, receive general educational development (GED) test instruction, vocational preparatory instruction, college preparatory instruction, or take classes to meet the lifelong learning needs for the individual (e.g., Adult Basic Education, Adult General Education, Adult Secondary Education).
  A5 Developmental Training Program - a postsecondary day program for persons with disabilities in which skills for working, independent living, and community participation are developed or enhanced.
B. Adult Services
  B1 Vocational - services needed to prepare for, find, and maintain employment, including vocational assessment, on-the-job training, work adjustment training, job placement, and job coaching.
  B2 Medical - services needed to correct, modify, and/or manage a physical or mental condition, including psychiatric services and therapies as prescribed.
  B3 Psychological - services, including testing, counseling, and guidance, needed to assist an individual in identifying aptitudes and personality characteristics and in adjusting to adult life roles.
  B4 Financial - assistance with management of financial resources the individual needs to benefit from community participation (including public finance such as social security).
  B5 Advocacy Services - services on behalf of an individual or family in order to protect the human and constitutional rights of the individual with a disablility.
  B6 Family Services - service to the family members of an individual with a disability that assist them and the individual in aspect of adult life.
  B7 Case Management - assistance with the ongoing coordination and management of an individual's supports and services.
C. Independent Living
  C1 Independent - lives alone or with a roommate without any support or assistance.
  C2 Semi-independent - intermittent supports and services that assist an individual to live with parents, alone, or with a roommate (e.g., supported living).
  C3 Dependent - ongoing (24 hour) supervision, supports and services that assist an individual living with family or in a facility (e.g., group home).
D. Employment
  D1 Competitve - full or part time jobs in the community with no paid supports and with wages consistent with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  D2 Individual Supported Competitive - full or part time jobs in the community with ongoing supports and services and with wages consistent with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  D3 Mobile Work Crew - a small group of no more than eight persons with disabilities working with the support of a crew supervisor, working at various job sites in the community, and at wages consistent with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  D4 Enclave - a small group of no more than eight persons with disabilities under supervision in a community business and at wages consistent with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  D5 Sheltered Workshop - employment in a work setting designed for persons with disabilities.
  D6 Military - service in any branch of the military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard).
E. Community Participation
  E1 Leisure/Recreation - activities in which an individual participates for enjoyment, enhancement, and/or physical well being.
  E2 Spiritual/Religious Nurture - involvement in an individual's chosen place or style of worship and related activities.
  E3 Transportation - supports and services needed to assist an individual's travel to and from employment, leisure activities, and other community services and activities.
  E4 Interpersonal Network Development - activities that connect an individual with disabilities to the people and services in the community to enhance various aspects of life (e.g., circle of friends, disability support groups, social clubs).
  E5 Volunteer Work/Community Service - participation in activities without expectations of monetary compensation that benefit the individual with a disability and the community.
  E6 Other - supports and services needed to maintain the individual in the community (e.g., interpreter services, reader services, notetaker, technological services, modification/adaptation to environment).
