Award Amounts for Florida Public and Private Institutions for Fall Term 2007 prior to January 1, 2008

Florida Academic Scholars Award (FAS)	Florida Medallion Scholars Award (FMS)	Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars Award (GSV)
Public Institution – An amount equal to 100% of tuition and fees* (including lab fees up to $300 per semester) plus $300 per semester for college-related expenses (excluding summer term) prorated by term and hours Private Institution - Fixed award amount based on 100% of the average tuition and fees covered at a comparable Florida public institution including the $300 per semester provided for college-related expenses prorated by term and hours	Public Community College - An amount equal to 100% of tuition and fees* for college credit courses leading to an associate degree (including lab fees up to $300 per semester) Other Public Institutions - An amount equal to 75% of tuition and fees* (including lab fees up to $300 per semester) Private Institution - Fixed award amount based on 75% of the average tuition and fees covered at a comparable Florida public institution prorated by term and hours	Public Institution – An amount equal to 75% of tuition and fees* (including lab fees up to $300 per semester) Private Institution – Fixed award amount based on 75% of the average tuition and fees covered at a comparable Florida public institution prorated by term and hours

*Fees included in the costs per credit hour are reported by the student’s home postsecondary institution.

Fixed Award Amounts for Students Attending Private Postsecondary Institutions in 2007-08

The 2007-08 Florida Bright Futures Scholarship award amounts for students attending Florida privately funded institutions are listed below. As required by law, they are based on the average matriculation and fees at comparable public institutions. The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship award amount for public colleges and universities is calculated based on each institution's cost per credit hour and the number of hours in which the student is enrolled at the end of the drop/add period each term.

2007-08 Semester Fixed Award Amounts for Florida Bright Futures and Scholarships for Children/Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans Students Enrolled at Private Postsecondary Institutions

4 Year Semester Schools (Average comparable public 4 year institution costs)
Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) Fixed award amount based on 100% of the average tuition and fees covered at a comparable Florida public institution which includes the annual $600 cost of education allowance prorated by term and hours. Conversion of Semester Credits and Clock Hours to Quarter Credits - Each semester credit represents 1.5 quarter credits. To calculate the equivalent quarter credits, multiply the semester credit by 1.5. - 30 clock hours represents 1 semester credit. To calculate the equivalent semester credits, divide the total number of clock hours by 30.
