Student CTE/ELL/Dropout Information

1. Record Type: I05 - Items 1-52 are valid for interdistrict and Bright Futures record transfer.
    S05 - Items 1-25 and 52 are valid for transcripts and Bright Futures record transfer.
2. Transfer up to 6 records per student.
3. Send up to 24 of the most relevant Career and Technical programs the student has completed or in which the student is participating.
4. Send the three most recent Dropout/DJJ Prevention records within the most recent year of instruction.
5. The presence of binary zeroes in data fields causes significant problems for several institutions in the receipt of student records. A transaction will be rejected if non-displayable characters are sent in the data unless found in Filler Reserved for Local Use (last 9 bytes of each record type). Please use some other appropriate character (e.g., SPACES) with which to initialize your records before sending them.
6. Required fields are indicated by an asterisk (*) next to the field name.
7. Special characters, tilde (~), caret (^), and grave accent (`), are used as delimiters in the translation of FASTER to SPEEDE/ExPRESS. They are reserved symbols and as such cannot be included in data sent through FASTER to a SPEEDE/ExPRESS institution.

*NOTE: A Program of Study is a coherent sequence of rigorous academic and technical courses that prepare students for successful completion of state academic standards and supports transition to more advanced postsecondary coursework in a related career area of interest. Additional requirements include:

A written articulation agreement must be in place for each Program of Study that validates the career pathway.

The agreement must be signed and approved by the agency head of each participating local education agency (LEA).

The Program of Study must include the locally endorsed sequence of core academic and Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses.

Career pathways must lead to a postsecondary credential. This may include a certificate, diploma, associate or baccalaureate degree.

Each Program of Study is expected to be guided by the workforce and economic needs of business and industry in the community and employment opportunities for students.
